Hello! I'm so glad you're here and you're interested in finding out a little bit about me.
John & Heather
Kenny & Chelsea
Brittney & Andy
My name is Heather Carter and I'm the author and creator of My Sweet Mission. I'm a Christian woman who has been married to a great man for a little over 31 years, named John, yes, John Carter! Lucky me, well it's not the actor, but still lucky me! We have 2 wonderful kids, our daughter Chelsea and our son Andy. They are both married to incredible people, so our family has recently grown to 6 people. Chelsea's husband's name is Kenny and Andy's wife's name is Brittney.
I have a few passions in life, but 2 very important ones are baking and missions. Thus the name for my blog, My Sweet Mission. I've loved to bake since I was a little girl and I got that love from my Mom and both of my Grandmothers. There's nothing better then seeing my family and friend's faces, and hearing their comments, when they bite into one of my delicious baked treats! It's such a reward! I'm also currently the lead baker at our church's restaurant called Baxter's.
My love for missions started back in 1998 when I went on a missions trip to Eastern Europe with our daughter Chelsea, who was about 14 years old at that time. We went with about 25 people and saw God move in beautiful ways. I remember one time at an outreach when almost every hand was raised to receive Jesus as their Savior! There's nothing quite like it! Recently my husband and I have gone to the Dominican Republic with Hope International Ministries, to do medical missions, where John & I help organize and lead the gift room. Talk about a thrill! When you hand someone a toothbrush for the first time or give them a pair of flip flops for their dirty and worn feet - it is priceless!!! This past summer we went to Thailand with Andy & Brittney, where we served in the slum communities of Bangkok. It was an amazing trip and many lives were touched as well. My husband and I served a year as the global mission directors at Metro City Church in Taylor. It is a relevant church, and they are passionate about helping people grow in their faith and reaching the lost for Christ.
On My Sweet Mission I share my best tried & true, delicious recipes, baking & cooking tips, food packaging ideas, posts about helping people in need and so much more. So, make sure to stop by as often as you can.
